Abuja Capital City of Nigeria, West Africa

Nigerian Visit to All Saints

On Monday 13 March 2006 we were proud to host a visit by two important, representatives from Abuja Capital City of Nigeria who were accompanied by officers from Kirklees. Francisca works for the Abuja LEA and Nuhu is a Principal of a large state school in the area.

There is a cluster of 15 schools in Abuja federal capital LEA, ready and waiting to partner a similar group in a British LEA. The two visitors were representatives of that group, over here to begin contacts and negotiations with our interested schools.

It is hoped that All Saints, building further international links as part of our Special School Status, will be able to form a close partnership with a school in Nigeria. Links could be made via video conferencing, email and even, in time, exchange visits.

The visitors had a tour around school, visited many lessons and saw lots of multi-cultural work, spoke to students and had a meeting with Miss Nixon. They thoroughly enjoyed their visit and were very complimentary about the school and its students.

All Saints already has a wide portfolio of partner schools in countries as diverse as Italy, Russia, Poland and South Africa – it is hoped that a close partnership with a school in Abuja will add another fascinating dimension.
